Clerk's Responsibilities -- The Clerk's Office is structured to provide assistance to various departments of the Sixth Judicial District Court*. It is also responsible for performing a number of non-judicial tasks, including issuance of Marriage Licenses, filing fictitious firm names**, swearing in of Notary Publics, and processing passport applications.

The Clerk's Office is also responsible for conducting all County Elections and is the Ex Officio Clerk for all County Commissioner meetings. The Clerk's Office can also provide Notary services to the public.

Election Results

* The Sixth Judicial District Court serves Humboldt County and Pershing County, as well as Lander County.

** The County Clerk's Office does NOT issue business licenses - for Business License Application please contact the Community Development Department at (775) 635-2860.
